Oral B iO I don’t know if you remember, but among some of the gifts we showed you in the post “What we received this ”, there was an electric toothbrush from Oral B iO.
I wanted to buy an Oral B electric toothbrush for a while. But I was always postponing it, until one day, when I decided to open my wallet. There are dozens of models, and to say that this can be a little overwhelming is little. The goal is always to know ‘which one is the best? Which one is the cheapest?’ And even better ‘which one is the best and the cheapest?’.
So I did an in-depth research, and it took me a long time. I searched a lot of websites, read reviews, compared prices, and even contacted oral B and asked which brush they advised me. Of course, the answer was the last model, the most expensive.
I was a little scared because I wanted an opinion without ulterior motives, and that’s why I went to an electrical appliance store and asked about the main differences between each toothbrush. When I got home, I went back to Google it. And the truth is that everything pointed me to the last model of these toothbrushes, “the Oral B iO ”.
I still waited a few days until I received it because, I made a point of choosing it in white (it is available in three colors – pink quartz, white and black). Although black is a very aesthetic and futuristic color in a bathroom, I admit that I preferred it in white because it’s more discreet, I like to enter my bathroom, and the first thing I look at is not the toothbrush. Black would stand out too much, in my all-white bathroom, in my opinion.

It looks overwhelming
At first glance, it seems a lot. And I admit that in the first week, it made me some confusion because I didn’t know which smart way to choose, I didn’t quite understand the color system that warns if we’re doing a proper brushing, etc. But the brush is very intuitive, and I quickly got used to it. My experience
As for the experience, I must say that the first time I used it, I decided to try the daily cleaning, and I spent a few minutes feeling my teeth vibrating. Therefore, for the rest of the week, I decided to use the gum care mode, as it is the calmest mode. Nowadays I have three favorite modes – daily cleaning, gum care, and teeth whitening.
If you notice some gum bleed in the first week, it’s okay, don’t freak out it’s normal. You just have to change the mode to Sensitive gums and when you get used to it, try another mode. Fortunately, I didn’t have this problem, but I read in several places that this can happen.
The recommended time to brush your teeth is 2 minutes, and only after 2 minutes, you will see a completely smiling face on the display. If you brush for 1 minute, the face will have the same smile but not so happy. If you brush for less than 1 minute, the smiley face won’t be very happy.
Cool Extras
There is an application that can be downloaded to your phone that by Bluetooth, analyzes how many times you brushed your teeth weekly and says if you behave well during the week or not.
Another thing, the brush features a pressure sensor with three different colors, white if you are not doing any pressure, red if you are doing too much pressure, and green (exactly what we want) which means that we are doing the perfect pressure.
It sounds complicated, but it’s not, believe me. It’s only a matter of time before you get used to it.
Another thing that I love is the magnetic charger. It looks so good and pretty. I know that we want something efficient but isn’t it better when it’s efficient and pretty?! Don’t worry about the battery because it lasts for so long. I use my toothbrush every day, and it lasts for three weeks.
The travel case is also pretty, and perfect to carry in any necessaire.
It sounds complicated, but it’s not, believe me. It’s only a matter of time before you get used to it.

But what really matters…is it worth it? After all this is not a cheaper product!
Yes, I feel a 100% difference! Whenever I brush my teeth, even if I haven’t done the recommended two minutes, I feel my mouth clean like I’ve never felt, even though I’ve been brushing for 5 minutes with a manual brush. And believe me when I say that my teeth look whiter!
Do you know when we brush our teeth and after when we floss, still get food out of the teeth? Well, after using this brush I never removed even a piece of food with the floss again. The truth is that dental floss comes completely clean. I’ve never felt my teeth so clean. In the ad, they say it’s cleaning like when we leave a dentist, and the truth is that it’s not quite like that, but it’s very, very similar.
Its advised to change the brush head every three months, and you can buy a refill package (each package brings three brush heads). Which turns out not to be much, because it can last up to 9 months.
Would I buy this brush again? Yes, and I advise everyone to be looking for a good electric brush. It was a bit expensive, but it’s worth every cent!
